Peeled tomatoes of San Marzano PDO

Description

San Marzano from agro Sarenese-Nocerino DOP peeled tomatoes with tomato juice, salt and citric acid. Grown and processed between the provinces of Naples, Salerno and Avellino, where the fruit is harvested by hand when the tomatoes reach full ripeness. The tomatoes are then peeled and soaked in natural tomato juice also obtained from San Marzano PDO tomatoes. The tomato is elongated in shape, bright red in colour and has a low seed content. The product can be used as is or after cooking and can be flavoured as desired with spices and herbs. Its sweet and sour flavour makes it ideal for flavouring pasta dishes or as a garnish on pizza.
